Believe you can and
you’re halfway there
– Theodore Roosevelt
Practicing positive thinking has been apart of my life for many years. It’s something instilled by my mother and something I’ve kept hold of throughout the years. It has helped me keep a positive mental attitude and I’ve achieved many successes because of it.
“Staying positive
and believing
in yourself in key”
I’ve been knocked now, right now and countless times before. And I get it more than anyone, setbacks are inevitable- I know that, it’s part of life. The same way that not everyone is going to be on my team. The same way I have to work twice as hard to get anyone to actually believe in me. But you know what, l believe in myself and no setback or negative comment will ever have the power to discourage me.
Honestly, and that’s what I want to address in this post – belief in yourself – because this is what will get you through anything – real talk. If you want people to take you seriously you have to believe in your abilities. It sounds so simple yet it is so difficult to master. Just to get yourself into that mindset takes constant mental exercise. And that might sounds strange but it’s exactly what you have to do – exercise your mind to be positive, strong willed, powerful. We all have to be reminder sometimes that if we don’t have faith in ourselves, how can we possibly expect anyone to believe in us? They won’t.
“Surround yourself
with
positive people”
You will meet people who will doubt you, who won’t support you. And while they may mean well by their “constructive criticism” their negative comments can be a devastating blow to our self-esteem – and I’ve been there. And it’s usually the people who you care most about – your family and friends. It hurts but the worst thing you can do is give up when you face difficulties. Rather take it as a challenge to become bigger and better and prove them wrong. Don’t loose faith in your abilities, in your worth.
Surround yourself with positive people! I can not stress this more, and people who you can learn from because you can’t expect a good life from hanging around negative people. Speaking to positive people and constantly having supportive people around you can further fuel your excitement towards your goals, ventures and endeavours. Negative people dampen your spirits – they are simply viruses! Because all they want is to see you fail – they have no ambition for their own lives so they thrive on making everyone else miserable. I simply do not give them the pleasure. It’s so important to constantly remind yourself that you hold unique qualities – and believe that you do. People will either inspire you or drain you and we are the only ones who control that chose.
Take every bit of stumble with a pinch of salt. Forget what others say, be the person who turns setbacks into opportunities, don’t give up on yourself or your abilities.
So, why should you believe in yourself? Well, simply because you are worth it. Because I believe in you and so many others will too.
“Believe in yourself
and
negativity
won’t affect you”

Yes, agree with all of this post, thank you for writing!
I have some incredibly negative and narrow minded relations, I decided for my wellbeing it was easier to cut them out and feel so much better for it x

Oh my goodness I love this post, it’s beautiful. I can’t help but agree with you in the more positive thinking aspect in life. I know only too well what a lot of self doubt and lack of confidence can do.

Thinking positively makes such a difference in what you achieve. I have life long depression and in my depressed periods essentially I can’t think positive and I hit a downwards spiral, when I’m not depressed I’m pretty positive though
