6 Important Things I’ve Learnt

In this short space of time, only 24 years, I’ve experienced unspeakable amount of events that have led to so many life lessons. Most of which I continuously feel I am way to young to know. But as many of you may know, I pride myself in learning, so I don’t really mind.

These are a few that stands out most for me and are the ones my life as I live it now, is based on.

1. Cultivate an attitude of gratitude

Always give thanks for everything you have and don’t have. Show gratitude towards everything and everyone in your life. Be patient with your problems and be thankful for the ones you don’t have to face.

2. Conceal the faults of others

Because I have way too many of my own. We are all flawed and have no right to call out anyone. My mother once told me that the faults we see in others are the ones we see in ourselves. That is such a powerful point. Spend less time correcting the faults of others and more time fixing your own.

3. Sweep in front of your own door before others

We all deal with being unfairly judged. So why do it to others? Judgement is for God only. I firmly believe that if you judge others you have no place in your heart to love them.

4. Reflect Daily

Reflection has been apart of my life for a long time. There are lessons to be learnt in everything we do. Reflecting allows you to see what you have achieved and what you can improve on.

5. Focus on uplifting others

Because why not? This world is filled with negativity and animosity. It needs love. Always choose love.

6. Not my monkeys not my circus

This I’ve learnt the hard way every time. It is imperative to know when to step away and allow people to deal with their problems on their own and makes your life so much stress and hassle free. Focus on your own circus!

Life is a reality to be experienced not a problem to be solved. Live, learn and leave a legacy you can be proud of. Invite and inspire love in all that you do.

Thank you for reading,
